When I finished my Almoraima transcriptions, Paco and his brother Ramón told me that they wanted me to transcribe the entirety of Paco’s work. Obviously, I was happy to continue with the project, and immediately started working on Solo Quiero Caminar. By then, Ramón was already in poor health, and sadly, when I was half-way through La Tumbona, he passed. Since Ramon was Paco de Lucia Foundation’s Director, the project was left in a state of uncertainty. A short time after Paco passed, leaving us heartbroken. The sudden deaths of these two people that I admired so much left me deeply shocked, and as a consequence, I decided to stop transcribing. I published online the transcripts of the tangos Solo Quiero Caminar, and the half of La Tumbona that I had transcribed.

A few months ago I started transcribing Paco’s recordings again, mainly for my students, and suddenly an idea occurred to me: why not share these transcripts with all the lovers of Paco de Lucia’s music? Why not share his music with other fans, not for profit, just out of admiration for his genius? Well, here we are!. To start with, I finished La Tumbona. You can download it on my blog, and the next transcription, Montiño” (fandangos de Huelva) will come soon after. 

Finally, an announcement: you can leave on my blog the title of the Paco de Lucia’s tune you’d like to have the transcription of. I will transcribe the tune that accumulates most votes. If you do not understand something in the transcriptions and need clarifications, you can make your comments in my blog, I’ll be happy to answer your ques- tions.
